Fwd: Exhibition details for Kazhcha

Unitas Isac are proud to announce Dublin Mela, the biggest such Indian extravaganza to be held in Ireland, to celebrate India and Ireland. This will be held from August 15th to August 19th, with a range of events at various venues. As part of the festivities planned for this period, Unitas plans to hold an Art exhibition at Trinity college, for which we are now open for entries. We are looking to exhibit any talents that you have.

We have a few themes, and the exhibit (especially where it is photography and/or paintings) should ideally be a mix of:

1. The Irish and Indian struggle for freedom
To showcase the similarities between India & Ireland's struggle for freedom
2. Integration
To showcase the cultural diversity of India & Ireland
3. India & Ireland in the 21st century
To showcase the evolution of India & Ireland post independence
4. Landscapes India & Ireland
To show the diversity of India & Ireland.

There are some exceptions where the above themes will not be applicable.

Terms and Conditions:
1. The exhibits should display any talent of an Indian person, or else should be an Indian talent of a non-Indian person (for e.g., an Irish person who does Madhubani art).
2. You will not be allowed to sell exhibits at the venue. However, if you wish to sell them after the exhibition, you may leave visiting cards, etc near your exhibit so that interested people may contact you after the exhibition.
3. Where paintings and photographs are concerned, exhibits have to be suitably mounted (e.g. on a canvas, or framed) and all images have to be preferably in the same format and more or less the same size (for e.g., if it is a photo, the sizes should be similar rather than range from A4 to 100x80cm (minimum size A4).). By format, we mean canvas, framed, acrylic, etc.
5. The number of exhibits will be limited according to the response and space available. Do not forget to add the minimum space required in the registration form.
6. Unitas ISAC reserves the right to reject exhibits deemed unsuitable, not in line with the theme or if entries come in too late. Unitas' decision will be final and binding.
7. All exhibits MUST be made by the person who is exhibiting. For e.g., if you are exhibiting jewellery, it should be hand made by you and not ones bought from maybe India and being sold here. Those exhibiting goods that are fraudulently claimed to be self-made, will be disqualified from exhibiting.

We are looking for a variety of arts, like jewellery making, pottery, various types of paintings (e.g. regular, Tanjore, Madhubani, Silk, Patachitra, etc), forms of arts made using a variety of materials, candle making and fabric painting, to name a few.

Registration closes on 7th July. All those registered should also send photographs of their portfolio that they intend to exhibit to the above email, i.e.melaexhibition@unitasisac.ie. If there are any further details that you require, you may email at the above mail id and we shall reply to your query asap. Interested individuals, please register using the link below.
